Let it Be Easy
Free audiobooks and new character art
Hello dearest readers,
I think it is no secret that I have hit a stretch of intense burn out in the last 6-8 months. Turns out working a day job, releasing two books, and getting married last year was a bit too much to squeeze into one rotation around the sun.
That burnout and complete exhaustion has been frustrating - it leaves me feeling like I’m incapable of doing everything I need to do, both within my day job and within my writing life and business as an author.
But I’ve realized I’m never going to get myself out of this hole if I keep trying to force myself to. So lately, I’ve tried to replace every moment of perceived failure or lack, with ease.
The phrase “let it be easy” has become my mantra, and it has helped replace the pressure I have been putting on myself with something else. At least when I can catch myself in the act.
I think removing that pressure has been working. I’ve been able to write a bit more often each week, and share a bit more openly and frequently about it.
In my gradual climb back out of the dark pit of nervous system collapse, I’m doing my best to find ways to get my books out there to those they need to find. I am so fortunate that my friend Tiffany Vanlandingham has selected the audiobook of The Source of Storms to be the first in her Undiscovered Narrator series.
Tiffany is an audiobook narrator herself, and has been a huge fan of The Source of Storms and supporter of it since very early in its existence. Her series aims to spotlight undiscovered audiobook titles and get them more reviews and attention, and I am very honored that she chose The Source of Storms as her first.
Here’s what Tiffany so kindly shared with her review group about the book:
Angelina Kelly’s FMC Halja is my kindred spirit.
Though tethered to the tiny community she was raised in, she is deeply drawn to the vastness of the natural world around her.
Because her desire to belong runs deep, she’s learned to mute herself. And yet, she remains a quiet curiosity seeker, instinctively drawn toward something more, even when it would be easier not to be.
When two strangers embrace her unconditionally and help her recognize her worth, she begins to understand what she might be capable of. But just as that understanding starts to take root, she’s pulled into a conflict between a controlling, morally righteous sect and a dark, unseen entity. What follows tests her resolve, her identity, and her desire for the freedom to claim her own path.
If you’d like to get on Tiffany’s list to receive a free copy of The Source of Storms audiobook, and all her other selected audiobooks in the future, you can sign up here. I have no doubt she will be bringing you lots of amazing titles.
If you’d like to check out a sample of the audiobook, you can find it on Audible.
Alys Wilde truly did an amazing job bringing Halja and the whole gang to life, and we would both be so grateful if you could give it a listen and leave a review. Reviews make a huge difference in helping others discover the series. You can find a bit more about Alys below.
Lastly, I know I mentioned in Instagram that I’d be sharing an excerpt from book three soon, and I promise I will in the next newsletter. I’m just having trouble choosing a scene without giving anything away!
As always, thank you for being here and supporting my craft.
